On very small bicycle frames, such as 14 inch mountain bikes with 29 inch tires, you may find that the push bar does not adequately clear the rear tire. Usually you can remedy this by stacking two bushings to raise the hitch. Use one of the extra bushings from your bushing kit, choosing the next largest size, and insert it below the hitch and bushing. The hitch bushing will rest on this lower bushing and raise the height of the hitch 2 inches. Check the tire clearance again and ensure adequate clearance.
We encourage a minimum of 4 inches of clearance at the highest point of the tire.
